New girl!

My chickens are about two months, I no egg laying is not anytime soon, however I've been reading the questions and answers in reference to nesting box. Right now my girls roost on post the most, they don't seem to have any interest in the nest, filed with fluffy and thick shavings, normal? I've read to get them when they seem to be ready to lay lock them in the nesting box area. Is this all day, only morning to mid morning, do you put food and water in the nesting area? I know I'm asking a lot but I'm new to this. Thanks for your help.

It is nice to meed you!

It is common for them to ignore the nest box until they are ready to lay eggs. They will often rip up the nest box a day or so before laying the first egg
