Hi everyone,
this is my first post on BYC
smile.png
and obviously I'm here because I love my back yard girls.

I have 5 hens - 2 older ones, one in the middle and 2 young ones in their 1st laying season.
since the arrival of the two youngn's the middle on has become very bossy
my concern now is that she seems to be morphing into a rooster!!!! growing long tail feathers
is this possible:confused:? Up until now she has been a good consistent layer
I'm in town so shouldn't have a rooster. Mind you she hasn't started crowing yet

Welcome to BYC.
A few years ago I had a Black Australorp hen that stopped laying and started crowing, even started growing spurs. I culled her/him. Yes, it happens.
