New goslings in my house

Ok, everyone, I have a bit of a story to tell you. about a two weeks ago, my mother answered a FB post in our local area, someone was looking for a home for two "ducklings" that had been dropped off at her husbands work place (he's CA Fish and Game). The original owner had received them as an Easter gift and didn't want them. So we drove into town and picked them up. To out great surprise, what we found as a pair of goslings instead! I'm kind of curious about what breed they may be. They are currently all yellow fuzz with a few small white feathers growing in on their tails. Beak and feet are a yellowish orange. They are quite large, I need both hands to pick them up. and they are about four weeks old now. So . . . anyone got any guesses?

Now for the other issue. a few days later, she saw another post for a "duckling". This one had been found on the side of the road with no mama in sight, and bein bullied by a bunch of kids. The lady took him in and put up a post to find him a home. . . . We decided, well the other two weren't ducklings, we may as well take it, since we already had a place set up for waterfowl. Once we picked him up . . . surprise! NOT a duckling either! From what I can figure out, based on what it looks like, the lady rescued a Canada Goose gosling! NOW what should I do? He's integrated himself amongst the other two nicely, but won't he fly off come fall? And they return to the location where they were hatched, right? Can someone tell me how to handle the situation?

How's everything going with the rescues? how are they doing?

Well, goslings are doing good. The little one seems to have been adopted by our adult pair, the goose is sitting on a nest right now, so we think that Papa goose thinks one of their eggs hatched early. the little one follows him around all day. The two big ones spend most of their time during the day with our ducks. They are beginning to feather out and whats coming in is white. At night though, we still round them up and put them in a playpen on the porch to protect them from predators. so far all is well!

That's great news. and it is so precious to see the parental caring these geese have for little ones. I wouldn't worry about the one you think maybe Canada keep it with the others always giving it the choice to go or stay when migration comes. You maybe surprised by what it chooses. Sounds like they have all found a wonderful home.
