We have a pair of Embden geese and we had a pair of Saddleback Sebastopol geese. Unfortunately we lost our male Sebbie in October. Our male Embden has been mating with her as well as the Embden. The Sebbie girl just hatched out six of seven eggs. Some were hers and some were the Embden's. Now I'm trying to tell them apart. All of them are yellow with gray. Wondering if anyone would be able to tell pure Embden from Sebastopol/Embden. I hope to get pics of each of them separately and post them soon. 1 momma "rejected". My son found him/her on it's back away from the nest and is now inside being spoiled by the humans. :)

5/7/2012 The 6th 1 is fine and has been with the rest of the goose family now. Just needed a day to get his/her legs under him/her. They are so cute! Just have to find homes for them all :)

Thanks guys. That is what I was afraid of. I was hoping someone was more of an expert than I am and could tell, but that is what we get for letting her hatch out some of her (Sebbie) own eggs. I was think the last pic might be full Embden because it is much lighter than the others.

Froggie I would agree that the last photo might be a pure bred. The Embden/Sebbie crosses are just unknown but mom being a SB would lead me to believe the dark capped babies are your mixes maybe. Again until they feather and you can see the Embden you won't really know.

The top pic looks more like how my Embden looked when a gosling, but gosh that was almost 5 years ago. They sure are beautiful
