New goslings?

Geese grow much faster. Like WAY faster. They also need a bit deeper water to drink in my experience. They get their bills really in there. Ducks drink in a more shallow water easier, geese like to kind of dunk their bills in, then tip back to swallow. Geese also seem to want to hang out in a bit deeper water in my experience. I bought livestock watering bins for mine to play in, they prefer them over the shallower kiddie pools (at least mine do) so they can actually float instead of merely wade. My bins have a smaller circumference but greater depth than kiddie pools. I have three for my six geese and dozen+ ducks. I put some pavers around the outside edges and some rocks around the sides on the inside so they could climb in/out easily when they were big enough to be outside with pools always available, but small enough to have trouble getting in/out easily.

Also, if given the chance (my) geese greatly prefer grass/greens over feed. My ducks like grass, but they like feed too. If my geese have feed next to or in grass, they’ll eat the grass first.

They .Need a safe predator proof place to stay at night. They are way bigger than ducks. My guys are almost waist high. I free range in the day but lose to predators. While much bigger than ducks, they are still subject to being eaten. They stay pretty close when out. I don't worry about them wandering off. I can hear them honking from inside the house. The gander that is, the goose is fairly quiet.

My geese love to float and hangout in deep water and only eat pasture and weeds they nibble on feed at night but thats it unless it winter. My hand raised babies stay really close even the wild ones that live around my barn and they all come when you yell goose. I give my bird free range acreage in day and have them kennel up in pairs at night. We have only ever lost one and it was killed by a pig.

Thanks for all y'alls help! I'm so excited about getting my new goslings! They won't be here until the first part of July. I can hardly wait!
