That other guy
In the Brooder
Hello everyone!
Alright, not gonna lie, first off these little buggers are a little annoying to deal with as they run away EVERYWHERE and really dont like to be held.... EVER!
So, heres a couple questions:
When if ever will they actually let me hold them without going AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! In a really loud squack.
I've been spending as much time with them the first three days as possible, but they're like ahhhhhhhhh! This is the second batch of chicks I've had (7 Guinea Royal purple, and 6 Cinnamon queens for this batch, previous batch was 16 delaware and 6 black australorps), and the first batch was fine with me by the end of 3-4 days and didn't mind my hands or presence.
The cinnamon queens are reacting and following suit with the guineas and running away from me like ahhhhh!, so i was wondering if I should just separate them for a week or so to develop on their own and then reintroduce them so they dont pick up on the guineas FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES!!! attitude for the rest of their lives.
Two of the guineas appear to be older by 2-4 days at least and seem to be leading the pack of guineas, and they HATE being held. Like claw, peck squawk, wiggle etc to get away from me, should they be removed so they cant influence the younger guineas?
I know the guineas are a more flighty breed, but this is quite ridiculous in how they are reacting to me XD.
