Hey all! I live in small town FL. Just started my own backyard operation. I have 6 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Jersey Black Giant ( had 3 but dang hawks got 2 of em ), and 1 Rhode Island White rooster. We originally got them for eggs but I would also like to expand into meat chickens also. Our Jersey Black has just started laying as of a week ago on a clutch of 12 eggs! Just wanted to say hey and tell a little about my backyard operation.

Yeah, she was my favorite hen out of the bunch but we haven't had much trouble from the coons because we have several dogs.
