Hi all I'm corvus! I'm new to the forum and new to chickens. I'll just go right ahead with the Q&A template.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm a first year chicken keeper, I've done a ton of research but nothing teaches like experience. My wife and I got our flock on 4/5/14.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We picked up 8 chicks of various ages and breeds from a local chicken farmer who had a chick sale at the feed store.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Ya know, that's a good question...
The only chickens I know more or less for sure are the Cinnamon Queens (2)

and the Polish (1).

We also have what we were told are game and easter egger crosses (2) some kind of frizzle (1) a feather legged bantum, and the black bird.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Quite simply, Google search, I had to look up something about the birds and found this page and forum.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I enjoy camping, hiking, and hunting. There's also home brewing, jewelry making, gardening, cigar smoking/collecting, and a huge list of other things.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I'm nearly 30 with a wife, kid, and dog (border collie mix). My wife is the manager of a local health food store and I stay at home with the critters and grow food for my family in a 100 sq ft garden area.

If you want to know anything else feel free to ask. It's good to be here and I hope to learn a few things while I'm here.

You have a gorgeous flock!

This is the place to be when you own poultry! Have you stopped by our learning center yet? Lots of great articles on raising poultry...

As for the breeds, I am not good at breed ID's. You might want to post these pics in our What Breed and Gender section for help with breeds....

Enjoy your lovely flock and make yourself at home here on BYC!

Yes indeed it is, I may have a slight obsession with ravens and crows

I feed a pair of Ravens that live in this territory and am waiting on the young to arrive next month to the yard. When all the off spring of this pair come to winter over, I have 25+ Ravens I feed all winter long. These birds are my medicine. When I lived in Crow territory, they would follow me around like shadows, those Crows. LOL Land on the roof top and wait for me to feed them! Can't get enough of the Crows and Ravens!!!

And your story?

Hi! I'm real new to the chicken thing too! A real "City Slicker" who retired and moved to UCLA. That's as in Upper Corner of Lower Alabama!

I'm just where I-85 crosses the AL/GA border. I have 4 chicks. Two are Buff Orpingtons and two are Black Australorps.

The questions never quit!
