Hello all, my name is Jason and I'm totally new to having backyard chickens. I talked my wife into the idea of having some chickens and so now I'm doing my research on coops and all sorts of other stuff I never realized I needed to know! My kids (7-9-11) are pretty exicted to get our new pets too. I'm hoping to learn the best way to build a coop and figure out which breeds of chickens we want. With the size of this forum I'm sure I can find all the info I need and more.

First of all look at the Learning Center and the Coops section here. That'll get you off to a good start! When you are ready for hens look at the Breeds section and pick your breeds. Have fun!
