Just saying hi. New guy to forum and raising chicks. I've been reading the forums and decided to join.
I have 5 chicks in the brooder and my kids are very happy. They each picked out one chick breed that they wanted and we added 3 sex links for a total of 5. My son wanted a Leghorn and my daughter wanted an Ameraucana.
Love the forums as it's definitely a wealth of information!!
It already has me planning a another larger coop!

Thanks everyone! Snow is starting to melt today and my chicks are 2 weeks old. I'm prepping their coop this week and although it's a small starter coop, I want to get a feel for what I want in the future before I upscale next year. Whether this is a just little hobby with the benefit of a few eggs a week for the kids and I, or a bit bigger project where I sell a few eggs to passerbys.

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
