This is my "what was I thinking" introduction thread. I'd been toying with the idea of getting chickens for a while now, I'd even gotten some wood together for the coop build. Today I went to price out rest of the materials and ended up leaving with 5 new chicks! Two Rhode Island Reds and 3 Barred Rocks. I've been lurking and reading for a while, so I have a pretty good understanding of what is going on. But I still keep asking what I got myself into.

Here's my girls. Coop should be done in the next couple weeks.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining.) What part of Texas are you in? My wife and I were both raised in the great state of Texas. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your coop built.

Glad you have joined us. They are all such cuties, too hard to resist. Better get going on that coop, they will need it in about 5 weeks!

Congrats on your new flock.
