Thank you all for the warm welcomes and tips. I have moved 7 of the 10 out to my coop at 5 weeks they were out growing the tub I had them in real fast. I left 1 of the cinnamon with the 2 week olds since one of them shadows her. I removed a divider for nesting boxes as suggested on one side to place water and food with them inside for a couple days. I already HATE the clean out tray since i spilled water as soon as I put it in and had to remove tray. Now realize how bad it will be trying to not drop all the shavings below coop on clean out. I am now looking at 10x10 sheds to convert does that seem big enough for my now 12 flock (damn you TSC) for having Gold Laced Wyandottes when i went to get another feeder.

Lol it happens! Chicken math kicks in yet again! I have been bitten by it several times lol But, I will admit Golden laced Wyandottes are beautiful birds! We got two this spring. I just could not say no as an Amish friend gave me a couple free!

I feel your pain. Our first coop is larger than yours but I filled it up in no time. I'm really 1 bird too many but as they free range all day every day, we're doing okay.
My husband built a second coop 8'x8'x9' and it is currently full (maybe 1-2 over), after hatching in an incubator and not resisting 6 more chicks at Rural King...it happens.

I'm going to suggest that you let the two week olds "play" with the older ones for at least an hour every day. It will make it much easier to integrate them when they are ready for the coop.

Yeah I think tomorrow I will let the older ones out of coop in to the run and take little ones out to run around with them for a bit.

They have all been out in the run all day they are having a blast. I brought the cinnamon and the two younger blue laced out which made the two less than week old gold laced go crazy crying. The queen seems to be playing mama to the wyandottes will be taking her back in tonight along with the blues. Was a blast watching the bigger red being chased when she found a worm and gave them a small slice of watermelon.

The one on my arm is Roosty wife thought it was going to be a rooster but staggered feathers on wings should be a lady correct? She was first to start getting feathers and filling out and she has spent much time sleeping on my chest in the garage. And then we have the Queen with HER Wyandottes, the three of them stayed close all day outside and she seemed very protective of them and her back in garage with the 4 little ones. The new "coop" comes wens 10x12 Amish shed that should be big enough I hope. My plans are to put up privacy fence around where the coop and run are now give them about 16x40 ft area to run around in with some netting over top keep safe from the air then run tiller around outside of fence to sink some hardware cloth to in keep critters out. Time for me to start searching coops builds for best paint to use on floor and walls when I put plywood in where roosting bars will be.

And then we have the Queen with HER Wyandottes, the three of them stayed close all day outside and she seemed very protective of them and her back in garage with the 4 little ones. We put kitchen/bathroom paint on the walls. It was over sheetrock as we live in Wisconsin and insulated. That coop has linoleum flooring. We use horse bedding pellets on the floor and only clean them out once a year, and the floor is pristine after 9 years.

In the other newer coop, we were recommended this stain for the floor. I was under the impression stain was for staining wood, but this stuff is like paint.

I agree with your wife, that Roosty is a cockerel.
