Wow, blown away by the warm welcome! Looking forward to getting my chics! I'm still scoping out the spot in my yard and have been industriously working at converting an old kid's playhouse into a coop.

Greetings from fellow Texan in little ol' Schulenburg. Is the temp so awful by you, also? Sure am looking forward to the cooler Fall temps, and hopefully some rain, too.

Yes, the heat here has been insanely hot. My grass is nearly dead and our neighborhood is on water restrictions. Thankfully it's starting to cool down enough for me to work in the yard again without feeling like I'm about to die!

It's so good to see so many people from so many places come together for a hobby they love.

Tomorrow morning I go back to tweaking out the playhouse.

Yup, I'm now jumping in the mix and asking questions. Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Still have a lot of reading to do but I think I've started to breach the learning curve here. I seem to have found the perfect place to learn.

Gonna grab some lunch and head outside to start marking out the new fence to close in the run. Feels good to be moving on this finally!
