I found this site through Google when I had a bunch of questions about the chickens I bought at the beginning of the pandemic. They were Silver-Laced Wyandotte pullets, but today I got a bunch of Buff Orpington chicks, so now I have new questions. Also, Cooper’s Hawks suck. RIP, Bianca.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I would suggest reading up on integrating chicks into the flock.
I raise all my chicks in the big coop (in a secure brooder) so that the big girls are used to them well in advance of integration. It cuts down on pecking order injuries and fighting.

Even though I personally have never lost any chickens from hawks I often see them on the back fence with a mouse or rat.
