We live in Cheney and is it better to have a mobile or fixed Coop We have several acres and lots of grass on our farm, and what are the best chickens to get for eggs.

Hi! Welcome to BYC! I would opt for a large predator proof coop and run. My favorite chickens are Buff Orpingtons, but you will find a lot of opinions of which is the best chicken. They are all so lovable in their own ways. My BO's lay well over 300 eggs a year and are just big fluffy sweet birds.

Fixed might be easier to predator proof.

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
I prefer fixed because I like to have electricity run to my coop.
White leghorns are hard to beat for egg production. And they do well free ranging because they are flighty. I have my entire flock contained with 1/3 acre surrounded by electric poultry netting that keeps them safe from ground attack.

I have a mixture of barnyard and RIRS and my barnyard started laying first and the RIRS just started laying

I used to have a peacock and now I am jealous I have peacock stuff in my whole house even my pjs
