Hello all, I stumbled on to this site and it looks like a lot of fun. I am new to raising chickens starting my backyard flock of 8 after buying a house with large back yard. I purchased 2 buff Orph, 2 Golden Wydn, 2 Barred Rock, 1 Wellsummer and 1 Speckled Susex chicks from a hatchery from Ohio ( I live in Oregon) and have raised them since they arrived on 7/28. I didn't expect that I would be this attached and bonded with chickens!!! But I have to admit I absolutely love my girls! The journey has been so much fun with a lot of surprises along the way that I was not expecting. Thats why I'm excited about this site, with all you chicken experts maybe you can help me out with some of these things.
