I like the 9 - 1 idea. Most of the swaps take 1 1/2- 2 hrs for me to get to anyway. I'll get to sleep in to 5:00! (or 6 if I packed the night before *grin*)

That will all change when the day light saving crap starts.I think the 8;00 am start is good in the summer so we don't get the full day of heatIn the winter if it ends at 1;00 and it takes you 1 1/2 hours to get home, you will be putting your birds in their pen in the dark. It's not to bad for us,but the birds will not know what is going on and will not roost.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree with Tony on this one. I'd love for the swaps to be later, so i actually wake up in time for them(I get home from work at 3-4am). Sorry Tilton crew(Heather, and Greg). But i know when i come home late from a show, my birds seems to be confused if we put them in their pens late.

If people live far away and darkness is a problem, common sense would tell me to pack up early during the fall swaps. many people leave as soon as they sell their birds anyways. nobody forces you to stay till the end. I would be more concerned about the cold early morning ride in the back of a pickup truck. so it is a catch 22.

tony has a lot of common sense, i think what he is saying, in tony way, is letting people who arent aware know some reasons why swaps shouldnt be done near dark is all. some of us didnt realize this and hadnt given it any thought.

i had 2 hens setting due last wednesday (my estimated time from when i noticed them setting) the old english hatched out 2 babies, many days ago so almost a week from when i thought they should have hatched. and the mille, who, yesterday i was throwing out her eggs because she would have been a week late today hatched 1 baby so far. i always mark when i first notice a hen setting and count 21 days from then.

but i wonder, they both set on more eggs than they could handle, i think that effected this timing, i think next time i will take some eggs away to give the other eggs a better chance.

what do you think?>

makes perfect sense the small the hen the smaller the clutch should be,
whats funny is seeing an OEGB sitting on 15 full sized eggs LOL.
goofy hens.

I can bring a poster or stickies for the registers but not until tomorrow morning when they open.

So if no one can get there today let me know. I'll go tomorrow.
