New Hampshire!!

Mine are doing ok. Im trying my hand at staggered hatches. I have 3 batches, 1st due to hatch 4/21, next on 4/29 and the last on 5/5. I have 2 hens and it seems that only one hen has been mated I have had many clears when I candle. I have 2 hens and 2 toms so I need to make a seperate pen and seperate into pairs so hopefully fertility will get better.

Thanks, I took a peek and your show girls are beautiful. If this batch is due to hatch April 19th, wondering roughly when they'd be off the brooder light and joining you at a swap? Or do you think they'd be all sold out by then (I guess it's hard to say either way, let me know if you can).

I try to get them off the brooder by 5 or 6 weeks. I leave them on longer than some people do but they are small and I want to give them the best care possible. I have chicks under a hen named sunshine pictured on facebook. some of them are still available. They are about a month old.

I have 32 broilers in the brooder now, they are 2 weeks old today. I usually raise the males to 8-9 weeks and the females to 10 weeks. Mine free range with my girls so they grow a little slower but end up dressing out to 6.5 -8 lbs. Thinking about doing a batch of 40 -50 in the fall, my husband is going to freak when he finds out we have to process that many

but I want a full freezer to get us through the winter! Thinking about raising meat rabbits too....

I have a litter of 9 californians that were born yesterday. They will be for sale as soon as they are old enough. I also breed new zealand.

Meat rabbits.... I thought about doing that but I have never had the opportunity to eat rabbit, do you know where I could get some to try it?

Try the healthy buffalo in chichester. they are by the chichester tractor supply. they have all kinds of meats. I raise them but keep the parents as pets. We buy meat rabbits already processed just like chicken at the grocery store. I have been told meat rabbits are very easy to process.

It's getting closer and I am getting excited! My first batch has a very high fertility rate (21 out of 25) Not sure how many I'll get but am happy with my big Tom. I haven't candled my second batch yet but can't wait to try. This wednesday will be day 10 for them. Am hoping you get positive results this weekend!

If anyone needs hatching eggs for free I have 1 dozen Black Sexlink fertile hatching eggs that I was storing and planning to incubate. Turns out I have no room in my incubator and the first eggs collected have been stored about 10 days now. Available this weekend only then I will trash them.

Edited to add - eggs found a home:)
