Anyone else stop by the poultry show at the Deerfield Fairgrounds yesterday? My daughter is interested in showing poultry so we stopped by to check it out. Lots of nice looking birds. Good job to everyone who put that show on.

I wanted to go... errands and household chores got ahold of me and I decided it was too late... I have never been and wanted to see all the pretty birds. Were there alot of varieties? Did you buy anything?

I was there,awfull turn out.They are usually crowded,but not this time.

hihi! my girlies are just about 4 1/2 months old, and still not a blasted egg in sight. freeloaders!!!

hmmm, what breed are they?, my red stars started laying at 15 weeks, but my other EE's still haven't started laying and they are older than 4 1/2 months but i can't remember their exact age, good thing is that i saw one of my roosters mount one of my ee's today so i hope egg laying will start soon, after my other rooster started mounting my reds they started to lay shortly after. time will tell, hang in there

i didn't realize it was this past weekend, i was sick anyway so wouldn't have changed anything. there is something going on at merrimack tractor supply this weekend, saturday i believe, its not a chicken swap but more of a variety of animals, but thats all i know

they even have a shiny new golf ball to help encourage them. the signs i keep reading about are there (their little combs are red, Red, RED!) i'm soooooooo excited and can't wait for my first egg!!!
