I was just getting up from the computer to go to bed when I noticed our tiny incubator had a fuzzy occupant- me, my husband and daughter all rushed over to look and we couldnt' believe two tiny little button quail babies were just hatched with two others pipping! Needless to say hubby went to bed and my daughter and I were so delighted to watch these babies hatch! I took photos and put them on my button page.

I can't believe how tiny they are! My first and favorite hen "Button" who is white was sitting on this first clutch of hers and her new "husband" Brownie, a blue faced male. At about 10 days of sitting on her nest I gathered almost all my young quails and a few pairs that I had sold (about 25) and I think all the rucus upset her so she left her nest. The next day she was still not on so I put the eggs in the incubator just to see what happened. Thing is this incubator failed four times before to hatch eggs that I had bought from others. Well, we now have 4 cute babies in the brooder! I'm new to the colors but two are bright yellow (whites?), one is a golden partridge color and one is black with two gold stripes down the back and circling the neck.
I just love these buttons!
