Hi

I have some new chicks - 2 days old - and their poo is slightly green and watery, rather than like real chicken poo.

Is that normal? They aren't really eating yet - but i keep sprinkling it in front of them to encourage them - and if anyone has any better ways to encourage them i would love to hear them.

I understand the phrase 'mother hen' so much now, as all i seem to do is worry about them and 'cluck' over them!

Hi! The neon green is normal.
Try tapping/scratching with your finger in a little pile of starter and going "ChickChickChick" --- mine will usually start pecking right away.
Good luck!

Hi ! Congrats !
I just put my 5 in the brooder and then tapped my finger in the food and they came up next to it and started eating...did same thing with water...have a small cat dish with clean rocks in it and then added water so they didn't drown...only have one that didn't catch on...have been pushing her beak in between rocks to get it wet so she will catch on....she must be a little slow...lol. Good Luck!
