New hatcher... prob old question...

I have 3 eggs in the incubator - day 0. I had 7 to start with, 3 live births, but one peep only lived for 36 hours. :'( One early egg death. Two of the eggs have a definite smell and when you tap on the egg, its a harder sound with no pipping coming from the egg. The final egg doesn't have a smell, the tap on the egg is very light and crack-like but there are no sounds coming from the egg. Should I assume all three are gone?

did you try floating? or candling?

I've tried canding but the shells are so dark it is really difficult to see anything. I have not tried floating. Didn't think of it actually - if it floats it's toast?

OK test done. All three were Low Floater= Viable Egg, Development Full Term - so I guess I just wait? I added more H20 to the water pot and shut em back up.

So if there isn't any noise in the egg - its ok?

Sometimes you won't hear anything for a while. They take breaks inbetween. So somtimes they are still good even if they are quite.
