My mallard duck just hatched and I wanted to check his butt for those thingamabobs. It is kinda small and has a small hole in his little navel area. (looks like a shaved, plump belly) Is this normal for hatchlings, after they absorb the yolk? It is definitely not huge and he seems fine, but he did have problems pipping and had assisted hatching, though he kicked out by himself when we weren't looking. Any ideas? How do we fix it? Will it go away?

Oh, I had heard of those things where the butt is bigger, but I can't think of the name of it when it is abnormally large. Anyways, sounds good. I just want him to be okay!!
