My 8 month old Golden Wyandotte went broody, initially i was just going to let her be since I dont have fertile eggs but by day 3 I felt so sorry for her... and my heartached thinking she wanted to be a mom... so i asked my day to bring me 3 eggs to see if she will hatch them. Well he brought me 8. ( 2 infertile). Yesterday her 6 babies hatched. I spent all day peeking without bothering her and counting little heads....I literally spent all day by the coop! I dont have room to keep them so I will keep 2 with momma and my dad will take the rest in a month or so ...Aaaaannnd

im never falling for that again!! I will try and break my future broodies lol! We moved her last night to her little private box with food and water in the run and will open her door maybe tomorrow so she can do her momma thing with her babies.

Doing good! 2 males 4 females. They are 3 weeks old now. 4 went across the street to join my father’s flock. I kept 2 females to keep momma company.
My other GLW tried to go broody a few days later after the chicks hatched. I manage to break her by removing her from the nest by day 3 she was good.... but she hasnt laid eggs and acts like auntie she is always with momma and chicks.
