new heat lamp???

Just got back from petco and was convinced to buy the infra-red heat lamp that gives off heat not light instead of the usual heat lamp. The guy swears that it will last MANY years as opposed to the regular ones that I have been using. Well it was twice the price but will be good if it lasts like he says it will. Has anyone used them, are they good or bad?

I use to use them all the time before we got free gas. They are really nice and I always have them on hand.

They heat the objects first not the air. They are like $19.00 for one bulb, but worth every penny.

so its ok for day olds? I am so tired of replacing bulbs that dont last. I did not pay $19 for them though
