I rescued 5 banty hens and one rooster. I have 2 hens and 1 rooster in one cage, and the other 3 hens in another (until I can get a coop built). The two hens that are in with the rooster have been laying eggs consistently for a couple weeks. One of the hens in the other cage just layed her first egg Monday. I'm not sure if it was her very first egg ever but the outside of the shell had a little blood on it. Is that normal? She seems ok otherwise but hasn't layed any since.

Yep, everything should be fine. Good management is always keeping a close eye to whats going on....sounds like your on the right track. I'm sure the flock as well as you welcomes the new coop and more freedom for the flock that they will surly enjoy.
