New hen not laying

I got 2 new Easter egger hens on Sunday. They haven’t laid an egg yet. It’s been 4 days. At what point should I be concerned? I did feed them chick feed for a day until I bought layer feed now I’m mixing it cause I have 5 chicks that are 8 weeks old with them.

I would give them some more time. They just went through a very traumatic event, leaving where/what they knew and going to a strange place.

How old are they?

Usually when chickens are moved to a new home they take a break in their laying cycle. Their lack of laying is a normal thing.

It could be a month before that start laying again. Stressful events such as moving really mess with the birds laying. Just keep the comfortable. They will adapt to the changes eventually and start to lay again.

I'm curious if you still have the chicks in with them? If so, you should be feeding the entire group starter or all flock, no layer, as the excess calcium can be harmful over time to birds that can't utilize it (like chicks).

I honestly don’t know. I traded her 4 baby roos for 2 laying hens. She didn’t say the age
