New hen with respiratory issue - Need advice!

Hi Kathy! Thank you for asking.....
We are giving her oral antibiotics as well as antibiotic eye drops and she is in quarantined in my living room. She is still sneezing off & on (more in the a.m.). It's strange, it is as though her right sinus is blocked - sometimes she sneezes and it makes her eye bubble (like the air is coming out of her tear duct). She sounds like she is coughing but only in the morning.
She is eating fine, energy is good. Sweet as can be.
I will take her back to the vet after the 14 day course of antibiotics & see what they say.
Fingers crossed that the outcome is good. The rest of my flock has not caught it (as of last night).

Hi Janet!
She is doing well. Cough and sneezing have stopped. Her tear duct still is bubbly in the morning, mostly. She is eating perfectly and has certainly has our number when it comes time to give her the meds....we have about 2 attempts at opening her beak and squirting the antibiotics in....any longer than that and she "pitches a fit" lol.
She will go back to the vet next week and we will see! Fingers crossed.

**Update**
Millie is on day 10 of her antibiotic course and although the sneezing and coughing is gone, the area around her right eye and sinus is swollen and the meds don't seem to be making a difference.
I did more reading online and I think that I will take her back to the vet on Friday and ask that they take blood to test for MG, etc.
I'll keep you posted.

You're very lucky to have a chicken vet! We don't have one around here. We've had to euthanize 3 of our
chickens in the last 4 months because of illness. Good luck with Millie.

*update*
Just took Millie back to the vet for a follow up after competing the 14 day course of antibiotics last night......her sinus on her right side is still very swollen and her eye is still bubbling with clear bubbles.
The new plan is to try baytril (spelling?) orally and continue the eye drops. We will see if this helps.
She is still quarantined and the rest of my flock is fine and don't show any symptoms.
I should note that Millie is an older hen (approx 6 years old) and is no longer laying and she is a pet and will not be eaten, so the antibiotics seem like a good way to go in the hopes of knocking out the infection.
Will keep you all updated in case you are interested and again, I appreciate everyone's concern and help!
