NEW HEN..

I hope I'm in the right place...I have 11 pullets 10 months old..great layers..I get 11 eggs a day..They are very tame and love attention!
Today someone dumped a new hen here by our henhouse...she wants to join the others but I heard its dangerous to introduce new hens in the coop...Is it true it must be done after dark?
Any help would be greatly appreciated..dont want any hens hurt!

I would dust with DE (or whatever you use for parasites)!
NO! you want them to see each other for a while before they can physically touch!

should separate from flock for 30 days so, you are not contaminating your flock!

when I am adding I will add more chickens so the original flock is overwhelmed!

you will have some pecking they will have to establish a new pecking order!
