I just put my new hens with my flock few days ago, but they won't go in the coop! They sit in the cow pit in the barn all night... what are some tricks to get them to follow the rest of the flock in at night?

I wouldn't have a problem but the barn has openings that make me worried for their safety!

if their not completly free range (if they have some sort of outside pen) lock all your birds in there for a few days to show where they are supposed to sleep.

    lure them with food...
that always works with my chickens!!!!
    good luck!

  4. Lock them in the coop for 3-4 days so they know where home is. Do you keep food and water in there?
