I haven't posted for a few weeks and wanted everyone to know that, on Monday, I received (via USPS) two new hens. Since the death of our beloved bantam hen in February, our Silver Duckwing Rooster has been a little lonely.
I went on a search of breeders in Ohio and found someone with two hens for sale. I received a Gold Duckwing hen and a Millie Fleur pullet. My roo took to them right away. He has been nothing but a gentleman. On the very first day he took the ladies a tour of our fenced in back yard. He delights in finding insects for them, warning them against any dangers (real & imagined) and generally being what God created him to be.
The new hens will never replace the little bantam that we raised from two days old ... but they (Millie and Mini) are wonderful in their own way.
Sorry for such a long post. Love the forum.
