Hello there!
I am a mom of 2 girls under 2y.o., and am planning on becoming a chicken mama, too. Hoping to get a flock of chicks in the next couple months.

Any suggestions/advice for making this process easier?

Any favorite chicken breeds for really young kids?

Any specific advice to raising chickens in central NC?

your girls will enjoy them, there are docile chickens so I would read up on them, might be easier on the kids

Welcome to BYC, we are glad you are here! Some breeds are known to be friendlier than others, but the easiest way to get friendly chickens is to spend time with them and give them treats. If you get chicks, you'll need to supervise your kids very carefully so the chicks don't get hurt. It's never too early to start teaching good manners and hygiene around animals!
