New here and I have a few questions

It doesn't hurt to give them more than one choice. If you have more than one hen ready to lay at a time or maybe there is something about one they don't like. I have 8 nesting boxes for 12 hens and there is one that I very rarley get an egg in. They are all built the same and have the same stuff in it.

First aid kit!~ Something I never thought of at all. I'm going to get right to that so when my birds arrive on the 23rd of May I'm ready

I have a little first aid collection: blu-kote for wounds, vaseline for protecting combs, a roll of paper towels. That's all I've used in the last year. I think I ought to get some Sulmet or something, but it makes me nervous. Maybe amprolium? Knock on wood, none of my chickens has been sick.

really? Only one nesting box? Would there be a draw back to having 3 nesting boxes... I am knid of one of those people who wants then each to have their own thing lol, but if it will be detrimental to the egg laying then I will only get one (maybe 2??)

You can have one for each or just one box, it's up to you. Having one for each is not going to bother the hens one bit, even if they only use one or two. BTW- They are easy to make.
Here's what I have. Really simple to make.

Others use 5 gal pails and many other things. Just do a search.
