Thanks, he's my pride and joy! Yours is a cutie too. My boy will be 10 in June, but you'd never know it.
The choocks were outdoors all day today. Weather was mild and calm. They sure don't like it when the wind is blowing.
Back to the coop tonight after dark to check to see where everyone is sleeping and move them again if necessary.
I'm loving my little feathered friends.
I blocked my nest boxes at night when I started getting poopy eggs and caught them sleeping in them. I unblocked them in the morings. They got the hint except for one. After putting her out a few times she started roosting too. Also I have golf balls in my nest boxes.
Update! Hubby has been going down every night to put the chicks "to bed". The first couple of nights he moved ALL five of the hens from the nests to the roost..The roo followed the hens. Then the three we had before the rescues arrived were going to the roost on their own.
Last night, all hens were on the roost and the Roo was still walking around. We're making progress.
Today we got our first egg!! Not sure who laid it, but it is brown and it weighed almost as heavy as the brown store bought eggs I brought home today.
What a great day!!
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I think that the girls are getting the idea thanks to y'all.
