Hey everyone,
I've been lurking for a few weeks to get ideas for my chicken coop, see what breeds are best, etc. On saturday I finally got my chickens! I got a mixture, all but 2 (year olds) are around the 9 week old range. So far they are doing good, they are so much fun to watch
During the day "Thelma and Louise" are outside in the run while the young ones are in the coop so they can eat and not worry about being on the bottom of the pecking order
Anyways, can anybody help me with these? I have a feeling this ameraucana is a cockerel but like I said, I am new to this chicken business! Compared to the other 3 ameraucanas I got which are all the same age, this one has very prominent tail feathers and thicker legs. I am hoping it is, as I would like one rooster to fertilize some eggs and to keep the ladies safe and happy
And any guesses on Gizmo the silkie? (7 weeks, had to get him/her since it hatched on my sons birthday LOL)
Thanks!
