Then you will discover silkies - probably the world's best natural incubators,

and a kid's favorite, or maybe you'll fall for Showgirls, that look like feather dusters., or tiny seramas and so on. Don't worry we are all great enablers here, we will NEVER say you have too many chickens, or ducks, or goats, or anything else.

BTW if you have your heart set on eating mean roosters, you can generally find them available free for the taking - loads of them get dumped every day.

Look--I understand there's some denial going on here. I get defensive around the issue because I'm protecting myself in denial. I WILL BE DONE AFTER THE BARRED ROCKS!!!!!

Okay, who am I kidding? You're absolutely right--I have to at least let everybody think I'm done after those birds. I have to build my coop yet and I'm planning 8 by 8; if I don't stop soon I'm going to have to build a bigger coop.
