BYC Café

Good morning Cafè. Hot coffee is ready.

We have a hard frost and I have a lot of burned annuals out there. If I have time this weekend I will tear out all of the dead plants. But it will probably wait until I get back from vacation.

I also am using the heat function on my mini split! I have yet to clean my chimney and stove out to get it ready for the heating season. But I never did like having to make small fires to keep the chill off the air when it wasn't that cold out. I really do like this thing.

Hubby and I got our flu and Covid shots today. My Covid arm (right) feels more sore than my flu arm.

A couple of years ago, we both had flu-like symptoms the evening after we got our shots. It lasted just that night and was just that one time.
I have a bunch of vaccines I need to get before going to Asia. When I get home from my Letchworth vacation, I'm going to get the the hepatitis A/B combo shot in one arm and tetanus shot in the other. I want to wait to get my flu and covid shots about 1 month before we fly over. Whatever else I need I'll spread out between these 2 sets.

We've been waiting on the shots because hubby is getting a biopsy on his thyroid. He didn't want to have to reschedule the biopsy if he had a reaction to the vaccines.

After waiting the week for "the call" to schedule the biopsy, we still had no call. Our doc told us to let him know if we hadn't heard, so we let him know. Another week went by. Another nudge for the doc to pass along.

Finally I said, I'm going to get my vaccines. Hubby said to schedule his as well. So I did this Wednesday, making the appointment for this morning.

Well! Wouldn't you know, they called yesterday to schedule his biopsy, and ask if today would work...? No, but Monday will.

Yay. We're going to get all this stuff taken care of so he can go visit his dad in Charlotte, NC.
