We’ve been raising chickens from hatching to rescuing for about the last 2 years and have had a pretty good time of it so far. But I’m desperate now with this lockdown and what it’s doing to our flocks. We have 3 current flocks of 7 6 and 6 the coops can’t move so the ground is AWFUL 😣 we just discovered and treated a mite issue in our hatched hybrid but have how discovered black scary marks all over our Pavlov cockerels face and mouth. I’m at a total loss. My daughter is suffering long Covid and I’ve just had a stroke so they haven’t been the being checked over the absolute best in the last few weeks I’m ashamed to say. Please please, anyone who can help with what this is and how we can help him I will be so greatful

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
That looks like fowl pox. Have you noticed mosquitos? Can you get wood chips to put in the pens to help the conditions?
We live in Gloucester so no mosquitoes that I can think of no but we have had lots of rats. They’ve had Jen safe rubber bedding down and we have been adding hardwood chippings to that too but we can’t move the coops
Do you really think it’s that? Will we have to kill him? 😢 or even the whole flock? Omg I hate winter in the Uk

How do I get a vaccination for him and our other chickens? I’ve got vetricyn plus, but is that enough?

No the Uk, how do I get a vaccine for him and the rest of our flocks? We have vertical plus which I see recommended on google but will that work? I’m devastated
It's too late for that vaccine. One they make it through this they should never get it again.
If it is fowl pox.
