(1) My family has had chickens for about 6-7 years. 2 of our 3 kids show chickens in 4-H.
(2) We have 17 hens and 1 rooster.
(3) Hens are Barred Rock and Buff Orpingtons
(4) My favorite aspect is that they keep a lot of bugs off of my fruit trees and they provide amazing fertilizer for the orchard. I free range them throughout a small orchard.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I am a firearm trainer on the side, have a small orchard, love dogs, backpacking and mountain biking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. 2 dogs, 3 outdoor cats, 3 Giant Nubian goats and 8 rabbits on our hobby farm. I repair electronics and am in the National Guard.
