Hello. I am new here. We bought our little mini farm last fall and I am hoping to get some Buff Orphingtons in the next few weeks. When I was a kid we raised chickens for meat and eggs. I am wanting to raise farm fresh eggs for our family and have chickens to help keep bugs down in the garden and yard.

I have a lot of questions about chicks as I will admit when I was a kid I had nothing to do with the set up for the chicks. I did not mess with them until I got to collect eggs (a morning and evening ritual I loved!) I really wanted older pullets that I did not have to mess with a heat lamp but I am finding it hard to find anything but chicks.

This website and forum was recommended by one of the 4-H parents in our club.
