New here, from Ohio

Hi all,
just wanted to introduce myself. I've been wanting chickens for a while now, read probably every book our local library could get for me, and finally took the plunge last week. My kids and I picked out 6 Amberlink chicks at TSC, and they are doing great! We have a brooder set up in the basement (the safest place, since we have indoor kitties), and my husband and son are planning on building a tractor within the next few weeks. We live in the city and only have a small yard, so hopefully this will work out for us.
I'm glad to have found this site!

Sounds wonderful! We live in "the country" a bit (we pass a huge sheep field to get home) but also in a suburban neighborhood with houses on every side. Just built an ark style coop and can't wait to get some hens in it, hopefully by tomorrow. Best wishes to you and your new little chicks!
