(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I just started keeping chickens this year after we bought our farm.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
23 baby chicks, 8 adult hens (3 I’m housing temporarily for my brother in-law) , & 7 eggs in an incubator

(3) What breeds do you have?
Partridge, Reds, Silkies

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love going out to see them everyday, and the fresh eggs are a huge bonus.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Sewing

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’m a stay at home mom. I have three beautiful boys, ages 4 3 & 2 months. My husbands has a small goat operation and I have 4 inside cats.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I just found it this week when googling information about chicken genetics. I’m super excited to meet others who enjoy these gorgeous creatures!
