(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Newish- Got Chickens Last fall- so less than a year ago
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 9 chickens. we had 12- our dog got into our brooder- we never found 1. Then we got 4 silkies- 1 we gave away due to being a roo (live in town, and cant have them, and my MOST fav silkie died from what i assumed to be coccida-but the meds never helped, she died the following morning.

2-Barred rocks, 2 orange chickens 3 speckled sussex, 2 silkies
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching my children collect eggs and interacting with the chickens
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Fishing, Writing, painting, Dog training, driving around town on our golf cart.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married to my husband of almost 4 years. We have 3 children all with unique special needs, we also have 2 akc reg GSD (hopefully puppies in sept) 3 cats, 3 aquatic turtles, a hybrid snapping turtle from Florida, and I own the worlds 3rd Largest Land tortoise (sulcata tortoise). I am a writer, I have books published on amazon- A book about my youngest daughters health, a chicken care ebook, and i also have journals I created that can be bought on amazon, including a chicken journal (because well....IM OBSSESSED with chickens). Who knew they could be so much fun.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found it by watching tiktok. I was in a few other chicken groups, and I came across a tiktoker who was in BYC fb group and I joined
