New here, I dont have my chickens yet

Hi, I new here. I don't have my chicken yet and I don't think I will be getting them until May or June. We have avian flu a county over from us. They had to cull 3 turkey farms so far. I don't want to get my chick's only to loose them to the flu. I have raised chicken in the past, bantam chickens for 4h with my parents help. Now I want to raise some chickens for meat and eggs. Thanks for letting me join.
