This is my first time incubating goose eggs. They are african grey. The eggs are at 30 days right now. I noticed yesterday I can hear the one egg making noise all the others look like they havent formed or grown anything. My husband candled the egg tonight and didnt pay attention to the placement of the egg when he put it back in I know it's a no at this point but I am hoping that it goes alright still? The air bubble was at the bottom of the egg so I rolled it to the top ofthe egg again did I mess it up? The Gosling was making noise but now has stopped is that a bad sign I'm so anxious at this point! Also since it was peeping yesterday and it has been a full 24 hours since I noticed it peeping do I poke a hole in the outside of the shell to let oxygen in to the Gosling? Sorry for the long paragraph! Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Have you posted in the Incubating and Hatching Forum? I've only ever did one assisted hatch for a chick that wasn't making progress under the broody hen so I can offer no advice.

Last night the Gosling pipped a whole at 1 am. The shell broke out but the membrane is still in tacked. I quickly candled it this morning and it's still moving and alive. Hoping it waits to start breaking the egg this evening when I get home from work! Either way though I'm just going to be so excited that one hatched 😍

I'm glad it pipped.
