Figured this was a good way to introduce myself..

on April 4th we took delivery of these 7 beauties..

A week or so later we broke ground...

Our ladys grew, and grew..

as did their coop..

Our living room was getting covered on dust and my wife's patience was wearing thin...

The hen house was getting closer

and closer..

The girls moved in before the pen was ready because the Wife was ready for them to fly the coop..

The wire goes on, over and under...

The county inspector dropped by to check that our permits were in place..

The gals come out for the first time..

All done...

No Raccoons will be getting in..

LED lighting..

Bottle opener... ( Austrolorp has a drinking problem)

and there you have it...

Three months later we are enjoying the girls more than we ever thought possible. I suspect we'll see our first eggs in early September.

I look forward to participating here more often..
