Glad to meet you, and welcome to BYC. How lucky that you live close to testing facilities. Here is an article from Wisconsin about different locations, mostly urban, that have tested eggs and sometimes chickens, as well, for lead levels. It has some helpful advice and tips, as well as some info about the fact that nobody knows how long lead might linger in exposed birds' eggs. and another article from Massachusetts about birds suffering from lead exposure (so you know some of the symptoms if the levels get high enough).
