Iowa
Hello!
My wife and I are first time chicken onwers. We live in Iowa and recently moved to the country.
We got them about a month ago. We have 9 hens and 1 rooster.

Its been an undertaking to say the least.
Lots of research along with building the coop etc.

We still haven't named them all. It's tough!
Here is what we have:

Salmon faverolles (4)
Foggy (rooster)
-
-
-

Easter egger (3)
Amelia
-
-

Jersey Giant (2)
Gigli
-

Cuckoo maran (1)
-

Any suggestions would be great!

Hi, welcome to BYC!

Congrats on a new home and a new flock, you have been working hard! Hope you're enjoying all of it.

It's not always easy coming up with names...we cheated and just named ours after our friends, lol. Some of them were pleased and some not so much

Maybe once you get to know them, names will come to you.

You have come to the right place!! I have to say I love, love, love our Salmon Feverolles !! We have a silkie & the Moma Clair in the welcome photo that is our favorite girl's.. You will love the farm fresh egg's.. It sounds like you will be great pet owners.. You might want to get on the Fourm from your state.. We have meet so many fabulous people on here. We even get together on issues with our flock and fun parties.. Oh, by the way.. If you ever think about getting Duck's they are so much fun.. The egg's are totally amazing!!! Better than our chicken egg's.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) names all of our hens after Disney princesses. We've had Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Briar Rose, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Rapunzel, Tiana, Meridah, Elsa, Anna, etc. I have trouble keeping up with who is who.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in naming your chickens.
