My Coop
Hello, I'm (fairly) new here, but finally comfortable to post. I just got permission from my HOA(Yayy!!) To have chickens. So naturally, the planning stages of a chicken coop are becoming real. I am planning on having 4 ready to lay chickens. I am also looking forward to turning the chicken run roof into a herb and vegetable garden. I have spent a lot of time on BYC, learning from others. Looking for to becoming more of a homesteader in my town that is fast paced.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! You sure have come to the right place for all the knowledge to help you on your new chicken adventures. It's sounds like you are very busy getting all your plans in order.
Be sure to ask any questions, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Good luck and enjoy BYC :frow

There are a few articles in the Learning Center on chicken-proof plants you may be interested in. This link will take you to that section (it also includes other articles):

That's great your HOA approved chickens, we usually hear that they are anti-chicken.

Have fun!

Luckily, my HOA consists of 25 houses. Just last week, my husband asked the president of the HOA if we could have chickens, in which he replied that we are not, but he wanted some himself and would present it to the board at the next meeting. Well, just yesterday, my neighborhood had a street party. The president asked everyone present if they would be opposed to letting residents have chickens...no one opposed! It was so awesome how everything fell in place. I'm looking forward to our adventure!
