Hello!
My name is Aryelle and I live near Grand Rapids MI. Just started raising chickens about a year ago, and right now have 8 lovely layers and 6 lovely babies. :)
 
Hi Aryelle; glad you joined BYC. You are way further along the learning curve than I am. I have my first flock of 25 and they are still in the brooder at 4 weeks. They don't have all their feathers yet and are quite comical looking. I find BYC to be a great resource, the members are really generous with their advice.
 
They are tons of fun, and there is nothing like farm fresh eggs. My daughter loves them and sge is on 16 minths old. We lost a silkie and a orange and black seabright this spring. The silkie dissapeared im guessing something snatched her, and the seabright died in my house wrapped in a blanket with a heat light after a heavy rain and she for some reason didnt go into the coop with the rest. I foubd her sitting in water barely moving. They can take a lit of learning and are a big responsibility, but they are great
